saprima® visual Projectmanagement

saprima® ermögicht jetzt eine visuelle Darstellung Ihrer Projekte.Und dies nicht nur statisch in Reports, sondern in einer interaktiven Ansicht im Broser oder als mobile APP.

This saprima® Usecase offers you the opportunity to present your project structure in an interactive view. The left part shows your structure in a tree view, which you can unfold to a defnable level. A certain level can be displayed as a tile. In this turn, freely definable fields are displayed. Columns display values of a “user-defined field” (UDF). These can have different types. Moving a tile from one column to another automatically changes the value of the initiative’s UDF. In addition, a definable rule (arbitrary logic) can be executed via the rule engine, to the event “postpone the initiative”. The appearance and content of the tiles can be freely defined. In order to display different use cases in this way, you have the possibility to define several of these representations and to call them up via the menu

Examples:

Roadmap Planning:

You are already successful in rolling or Resource management, at whatever level, for all your project ideas and projects in saprima®. Taking into account the resources capacities creates a roadmap of projects. Since this roadmap changes from a strategic point of view, a reworking of resource planning is necessary again and again. Often the roadmap planning is mapped in PowerPoint. If it is changed, the impact on resource capacity can only be seen when planning is adjusted in saprima®. With our new visual management Usecase, the following could be done:

  • Resource planning on WBS or Activities is performed by Resource Manager in saprima®
  • In the visual use case, milestones (quarter, fair dates, gate milestones …) are displayed as columns.
  • Depending on the date of the project, the projects are displayed as tiles in the columns
  • If a project is now moved from one column to the other, this event triggers a rule that automatically reschedules the project, thereby shifting the resources required accordingly.
  • now it can be made immediately visible, which effects this has on the resource situation, and it can be reacted directly in this Usecase

interactive project leader assignment:

  • the project leaders are displayed as columns
  • the projects are displayed as tiles in the columns
  • If you move a project from one column to the other, a new project manager is automatically assigned and the initiator of the project can be informed by e-mail about the initiated rule.

Resource management is done in any way in any company, no matter how many employees they have. Resource management for the next period usually works because it is performed by resource responsible / teams, with a staff number of max. 15 employees. Since short-term decisions often have to be made here (illness, etc.), this is usually done without tool support and only rarely entered into tools like Excel. But how does it look  with long term planning? Answers to questions such as: “Can we carry out a specific project from resource review in 6 months?” Are often only abdominal decisions!

saprima Version 4.1

Allgemeines zur neuen Versionen von saprima®

saprima® wurde von Anfang an als dynamisches, flexibles und schnell an Kundenerfordernisse anpassbares System entwickelt. Dies wurde auch in der Version 4.1 konsequent weitergeführt. So besteht die Möglichkeit, schnell auf Anfragen von Kunden reagieren und diese schnell umzusetzen zu können. Da wir Kundenanforderungen immer versuchen, dynamisch und parametrierbar zu implementieren, gelingt es uns, saprima® mit Funktionen aus der Praxis ständig zu erweitern und einen Release-Zyklus von ca. 6 Monaten einzuhalten. Die Architektur von saprima® erlaubt es, dass Funktionen speziell für Kunden entwickelt wurden und nicht in den Standard übernommen werden, in den neuen Versionen wieder lauffähig sind.

 

saprima® Version 4.1

Wegen Performanceoptimierung, wurden erstmals in der Version 4.1 Änderungen im Backend durchgeführt. Zusätzlich wurden einige Usecases optimiert, z.B. kann man jetzt auch Resourceplanung im GANTT-Usecase durchführen.

Definieren einer Kennwortrichtlinie

Um dem neuen Datenschutzgesetz (DS-GVO) genüge zu leisten, kann man jetzt eine Kennwortrichtlinie definieren. Dies ist natürlich nicht nötig, wenn die Passwörter z.B. mit Active-Directory synchronisiert werden.

Änderungen der Tabs im Usecase Initiativen

Im Usecase Initiativen wurde der Tab Ressourcenzuweisungen in Berechtigung umbenannt. Hier kann man nur noch den Usern Berechtigungsrollen auf Initiativen zuweisen und nicht wie Vorher auch Aufwände auf Initiativen planen. Dies geschieht jetzt nur noch im Usecase Ressourcenplanung. Natürlich auch in den anderen Usecases wie Bucketplan, Ressource – Bucketplan und Ressourcenplanung.

Zusätzlicher Tab für abstrakte Ressourcen (Skills)

Im Usecase Ressourcen steht jetzt ein Tab abstrakte Ressourcen zu Verfügung. Hier kann man jetzt auch den abstrakten Ressourcen (Skills) Mitarbeiter zuweisen. Bis zur Version 4.0 konnte man nur den Mitarbeiter über den Tab Fertigkeiten eine n Skill zuweisen. Problem war dabei immer, dass man keine Ansicht hatte, welche Mitarbeiter haben einen bestimmten Skill.

Ressourcenauswahldialoge im Usecase Bucketplan

Je nach Einstellung, werden jetzt die Aufwände einer abstrakten Ressource (Skill) angezeigt:

  • Nur Aufwände von einer abstrakten Ressource zugewiesenen Mitarbeitern
  • Nur Aufwände von Ressourcen die in einer Initiativezuweisung der abstrakten Ressource zugewiesen sind
  • Alle Aufwände die auf die abstrakte Ressource selbst zugewiesen sind
  • den Aufwand der abstrakten Ressource selbst

Filterdefinition im Layout speichern

Die Filter eines Auswahldialogs werden jetzt im jeweiligem Layout gespeichert. Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass bei globalen Layouts auch ein globaler Filter gewählt wird. Bei einem userspezifischen Layout muss ein userspezifischer Filter gewählt werden.

Logmeldungen im Usecase JOBS

In dieser Version werden die Logmeldungen die während eines Joblauf‘s erzeugt werden, direkt in Browserfenster angezeigt. In den vorhergehenden Versionen wurden die Fehlermeldungen in einem Log-File auf dem Server gespeichert. Daher konnten sie vom User nicht eingesehen werden.

Änderungen im Backend

Objekte Ressourcezuweisung und RessourceQuantity wurden voneinander getrennt. Das Ressourcequantity wurde zur Performanceoptimierung direkt mit den Initiativen verknüpft. Die Ressourcezuweisung zu einer Initiative, dient jetzt nur noch zur Rechtesteuerung.

Das Layout Format wurde von XML zu JSON geändert.

Neue Jasperserver Version 6.4.2

Die Version 6.4.2 des Jasperservers® von Tibco® wurde in saprima® eingebunden.

Where does project management start and where does it end?

For some, project management starts with the idea for a project, for others, a project starts with the realization. In some cases, scheduling is already project management and in others, ideas management, portfolio management, scheduling, resource management, cost management, target / actual comparisons, agile methods … are essential components of “project management”. Often it depends on the project type which project management disciplines have to be used to realize a project.

Do all disciplines of project management necessarily have to be applied?

It makes sense to apply all disciplines of project management. Of course, and this is the point, the effort for project management should not exceed the benefits. So it certainly makes sense to look at all projects together and to classify them according to their priorities. After all, if problems occur, be it from a cost perspective or because of cpicity of scarcity of resources, it must be possible to decide immediately which project gets the resources or in which project the budget should not be lowered. Scheduling is important to communicate completion dates. Every discipline certainly has its advantage and is carried out in any way, either with or without a tool, in each company. It only depends on the detailing of the planning. So you can, for example Plan resources to the minute with a high degree of planning effort, or schedule a role-based plan every month or even every quarter.

Why is saprima® particularly suitable as a project management tool?

 

Due to the architecture of saprima® and the data model according to DIN 69901-4, it is possible to map all current methods and functions of multiproject management in saprima®. It does not matter whether the data is entered directly in the saprima® web interface or imported from other systems. Via the saprima® backend, the data is written to the database in standardized form and is thus available for further processing and for evaluations in the provided BI system from Jaspersoft. The data can also be provided by saprima® for a BI system available to the customer.In practice, you can carry out scheduling with forward / backward calculation and resource planning in one project and perform role planning in another project only at the project level. saprima® will provide you with standardized data in the integrated BI system for all evaluations. Due to the flexible import possibilities, it is not necessary for you to carry out all disciplines in saprima®; you can import dates and manage portfolio management, resource management … in saprima®. It is important to have an overall view of all projects that can be realized in a company, to evaluate them together.

How can saprima® be implemented!

Since saprima® supports all disciplines of project management, it really does not matter which discipline and in which level of detail you start with the implementation.So, at the project level, you can start with role planning because the most necessary information is the staff utilization at role or department level. Afterwards you can take care of the topics scheduling, cost management etc. Most of the time, portfolio management is a waste product, because you have stored all projects in the database for e.g. resourcemanagement. Similarly, you can start with portfolio management or idea management and then continue with role or resource planning. The flexible import and interface options make it possible for employees to continue working in their usual tools (Excel, MS Project, etc.) and to only use the comfortable BI functionalities of saprima®. So you can imagine a variety of scenarios for getting started, which can be expanded later. The most important principle is:

“The planning effort must not exceed the benefit!”
